The Learning Platform provides the structure and framework which allows the visualisation of content such as Web Based Training (WBT), Knowledge Management, Skill Management and Electronic Human-Resource Management.
Working together with the WBT system, the main functions of the Learning Platform include the:
- administration of participants and their qualification profile
- participants privileges
- administration of the range of courses on offer
- allocation of courses to participants, and
- creation and evaluation of tests, access to course content, and feedback.
Reporting and Analysis interfaces allow courses, results and feedback to be called up, analysed and evaluated.
The participants are able to call up the courses using any standard browser such as Internet Explorer or Navigator. Course content can be created using technologies like Flash, Javascript and HTML. As the courses are worked through, the participant's progress is recorded in the databank. Tests built into the courses can also be saved in the databank.
The administration masks for content administration allow individual WBT courses to be added, edited, and made available to participants.
The e-Learning Portal is available in two versions with the following functional content:
