Starting point Henkel is a member of the chemical industry’s world-wide “Responsible Care” initiative. Henkel subscribes to the Sustainable Care business concept, which integrates economical and social aspects alongside ecological considerations. The Code of Behaviour, developed in 1999 and binding for all employees, sets out ethical standards for all the Henkel Groups’s business activities.
The learning programme was conceived to increase awareness of “Responsible Care” in Henkel’s employees.
Target audience All Henkel Group employees in Germany.
Implementation Responsible Care at Henkel is made concrete in 15 SHE-standards. The WBT package presents the relevant facts in an interesting and playful way, with the goal that news of the tool should spread by word-of-mouth.
An appropriate game-like animation was developed for each standard. Before reaching the animation stage, though, the user is shown the components of the standard being discussed. After playing for a while, more information about Henkel’s implementation of the SHE-standards is presented.
The WBT tool can be called up from the learning databank in the Henkel Group’s intranet. Site traffic analysis shows that this type of learning is well accepted by the Henkel employees, and that they have deepened their knowledge of “Responsible Care”.
Programming The WBT tool is an intranet application created with Macromedia Flash and Standard-HTML. |
